Frequently Asked Question
A view is a context-sensitive visualization of data. By context-sensitive visualization, we mean a visualization that is specific to a given user and use.
For example, several views can be defined to visualize a bundle of data, such as a hospitalization report: a patient view, the complete hospitalization report for a specialist, a summary discharge report containing only those points relevant to continuity of care for the general practitioner, etc. Another example is medication, for which you may wish to have a doctor's view. Another example: for drugs, you'll want to have a physician view, a view for the dispensing pharmacist, a view for the administering nurse, a patient view, and so on.
The view to be displayed therefore depends on the user's role and choice of viewer.
